The fourth day of Foreign Language Week at our school turned into a real kaleidoscope of impressions, emotions and discoveries, where every student was able to feel like a traveller, researcher and even a little artist!
The morning began with a bright video trip to London for 2nd grade students. Little researchers enthusiastically “walked” through the streets of the British capital, saw famous sights and felt like real tourists, immersing themselves in the world of the English language.
This day was especially eventful for 4th grade students. Students of grades 4-A and 4-B plunged into the fascinating world of the United Kingdom during the interactive travel lesson “Welcome to the UK”. The lesson was organized in the format of a virtual tour, where each student became a real “traveller”.
During the lesson, the children discovered four parts of the United Kingdom — England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, got acquainted with their symbols, flags and capitals: London, Edinburgh, Cardiff and Belfast. Of particular interest were the national symbols — the rose and the thistle.
To consolidate their knowledge, the students:
solved thematic crosswords;
performed “True/False” exercises about famous landmarks;
participated in speech games, describing famous places using the learned vocabulary.
This format not only made the learning interesting and dynamic, but also helped to integrate knowledge of geography and culture, developing listening and speaking skills.
Interesting activities were also prepared for the youngest students: teacher Tsarenko N.V. conducted a bright educational game for 1st grade students. Children happily completed tasks, played, laughed and took their first confident steps in the world of English.
Intellectual drive reigned during the quiz for students of grades 5-B and 7-B, which was conducted by Yurin O.Ye. The teams competed, demonstrating erudition, speed of thinking and real team spirit.
A special highlight of the day was a trip to the most romantic country in the world – France. Students of grade 6-I, together with teacher Liashchenko A.O. and students of grade 11-A, became participants in the interactive virtual journey “Bienvenue en France”.
During the trip, students:
discovered the French roots of familiar words;
learned to greet and get acquainted with the French language;
participated in exciting language quests and fun activities.
The French atmosphere, lively communication and interactivity made this event truly unforgettable and inspired children to further study languages. The fourth day of Foreign Language Week proved: languages are not only about rules and words, they are about travel, emotions, friendship and limitless opportunities to discover the world!
