The School Recycling World International Youth Movement and the School Sustainable Development School invites students to use quarantine time to benefit from the competition, contribute to nature conservation, and win prizes. In any case, the quarantine will soon pass and the bags and environmental habits will remain.
Every year, humanity produces more than 5 trillion plastic disposable bags. According to the UN, about 10 million plastic bags are used every minute in the world. One Ukrainian family uses an average of 15 packages per trip to the supermarket. And for one such bag to decompose, sometimes it takes up to a thousand years.
In less than two years, Ukrainians will have to give up “balls” – in November last year, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a bill to ban the use of most plastic bags in first reading. And those who start adjusting to future changes will benefit now. To the question “How to replace packages?” the organizers of the competition respond: “There is a way out. These are reusable bags”.
So School Recycling World is inviting Ukrainian schoolchildren and their families to become part of a worldwide plastic waiver movement right now. To do this is simple – to join the all-Ukrainian project “Bag”. The task is simple – sew eco-bags to use in the future. And a creative approach to the business will help you win super prizes and, eventually, become the engine of change in your environment.
Throughout the project, organizers will weekly encourage participants to play prizes on social media @schoolrecyclingworld. That is, anyone who sews a purse on his own has a chance to win gifts.
To claim the prizes, you need to share photos of the work and videos of the social networking process with the addition of the hashtags #SRW # #SchoolRecyclingWorld. Have time to do so and complete the participant questionnaire by May 20, 2020. The school, whose team wins the hearts of the jury, will receive the grand prize – a printer for sublimation printing.

The winners will be announced on May 22, 2020 at schoolrecyclingworld.org. Participants can download their entries until May 20 inclusive.
