World Savings Day
The Ukrainian campaign around the Savings Day continues throughout November and is a whole complex of events. Each year, NABU member banks organize educational events for the public – open days at banks for children and adults, financial literacy meetings. This year, traditionally, students of our school visited the branch of the leader, today, the banking system – Raiffeisen Bank Aval, which is located near the school. A rich and informative meeting of students of grades 10-11 with representatives of the bank was aimed at introducing students to the possibilities of modern banking products (FUNcard service package – loyalty cards, features of the mobile application FUNcard). The students were particularly interested in the rules of protecting their money from fraudulent actions and how to protect themselves from such actions by criminals. Representatives of Cherkasy University of Banking spoke about additional opportunities of the financial sector of Ukraine.
Note: The story of Savings Day began in 1924 in Milan, where it was introduced by the organizers of the First International Congress of Savings Centers. Since then, government and financial institutions in dozens of countries have been organizing various events on the occasion of the Savings Day. Since 2012, our compatriots have been celebrating this day with the initiative of the Independent Association of Banks of Ukraine (NABU).
