World Multiplication Table Day is a celebration of mathematics, learning and pedagogical creativity, a movement to make learning fun and exciting. The Multiplication Table Festival helps to review the multiplication table and promotes learning through play, benefiting students, teachers and schools. The oldest table was created by the Babylonians 4 thousand years ago. A similar to the current one appeared in China more than 300 years BC. It was made from bamboo boards and used to calculate decimal numbers. The multiplication table is fundamental knowledge that will be useful to each of us in everyday life. It helps solve various tasks, starting with calculations in the store, ending with data analysis and planning. Without understanding the basics of multiplication and division, it is difficult to imagine the modern world.
A quiz was held with the students of the 3-A class, during which the children remembered the laws and properties of the multiplication action, as well as interactive games aimed at improving knowledge of table multiplication.
Children of the 3rd grade coloured interesting tasks and repeated the multiplication table in an interactive form.
Pupils of the 4th grade repeated their knowledge in a playful way with the help of LEGO bricks.
The students of the school participated in the campaign for World Multiplication Table Day and received the corresponding certificate.
First, the preparation took place, during which the children remembered the multiplication table in a playful way: “Password of the day”, “Marble” and “Mathematical walks”. Children become examiners and test their knowledge of the multiplication table by older colleagues and adults. All the materials needed for the campaign in the classroom and at the school are free and can be downloaded from the website after registering the school.
