Today, November 20, 2023, the World Children’s Day is celebrated – a holiday of mutual understanding and support for activities aimed at ensuring the well-being of children from all over the world. Officially, this holiday appeared in 1954 thanks to the relevant decision of the UN General Assembly, which drew the attention of all mankind to the need to achieve mutual understanding with children and ensure safe conditions for their lives. The holiday is also celebrated on the day the United Nations adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child. It happened in 1959. In addition, on November 20, 1989, the international convention on the rights of the child was signed.
The purpose of celebrating World Children’s Day is to draw the attention of the general public, organizations and government institutions to issues aimed at the practical implementation of measures to ensure the well-being of children around the world. The relevance of childhood problems remains high, unfortunately, to this day. This day was also celebrated by the students of our school. In the 1st grade, the event “Today is the day of childhood” was held. During the lesson, the children got acquainted with the history of this holiday and made a “Palm of support for a classmate”. Pupils of 4-B participated in holding a themed educational hour for the World Children’s Day, remembered the rights and responsibilities of the child, wrote down their dreams on magical balloons and created a box of good deeds. All children were active, everyone’s dreams were different and interesting.
Children of 1-A watched a cartoon about children’s rights and played an interactive game in which they determined where the rights are and where the duties are.
Pupils of 11-A introduced an interesting tradition – fun musical breaks for younger pupils. Children can move to music and have fun from the heart.
Everyone should remember that “Children are the flowers of our life! And it’s not just a nice phrase. Children are the most important treasure of our society. And not only the future of our country, but also the future of our entire world depends on how we raise them, what seeds of goodness, justice, and courage we plant in them.”
