That’s already past autumn, but it is not felt, because in Heyterzberg is still quite warm (15-20 degrees Celsius). My friends are very surprised by the fact that Ukraine has snow, because here I can see snow until late January. That is why snow is not very suited men and a small amount of it may stop all traffic in the area. However, students are always welcome to it, it’s an excuse to stay home and not go to school.
A few weeks ago was held International Education Week, I for whom I had the opportunity to spend nine presentations on Ukraine to help high school students better understand the current situation. At the end of the week as dinner was held at the office of American Councils in Washington, attended by exchange students from everywhere.
Also, along with the other students by sharing my host organization I had the opportunity to visit the National Public Radio, to see how journalists work there, and how the process of preparing news.
In addition, I again visited the evening dance for people with disabilities, held in a nearby town. I cannot rejoice in what for them are really concerned and allow socialize.
In late November was Thanksgiving – perhaps the biggest family holiday in the USA. This day we got a lot of guests and relatives gathered together at a large dining table and cheerfully spent time. I also had the opportunity to hold one of their presentations for them.
And in early December, I met my birthday. In America ’16 deemed date of detention incredible celebration, because my host family well tried to make this day unforgettable, and I am incredibly grateful to them. I am also grateful to all the friends and teachers from Ukraine who have sent me their congratulations.
Only a week ago I visited New York! This incredibly huge city is different from Washington, waving huge billboards, towering skyscrapers and surprises with its versatility. It was very interesting to look at what part of town we did not show in the movies. I was able to walk the Brooklyn Bridge, see the Statue of Liberty and a memorial to 9-11, walk on Wall Street and Times Square!
P.S. The school finally hung the flag of Ukraine!
