Tolerance is freedom, justice and impartiality. It gives every person equal opportunities for development.
Respect for human individuality is called tolerance. These words are the slogan for events held at our school.
Despite long and frequent worries, an educational event was held in the shelter on the initiative of the students of the 3rd – 1st grade and with the participation of the students of the 3 – B grade. The slogan “Learning to be tolerant people” was chosen as the theme of the event. The event was prepared and conducted by a 4th-year intern student of ChNU of B. Khmelnytskyi Yuliya Boyko and teachers Mohylna T.M. and Ostapchuk V.M.
During the work, third-graders deepened their knowledge about the meaning, principles, and rules of manifestations of tolerance. They got acquainted with “The Tale of Tolerance”, learned to distinguish types of behaviour and determine the right path to their own and others’ happiness. Using the examples of literary fairy tales, they analysed the life path of the heroes, found out what circumstances occurred in the lives of the heroes and what ways they overcame their differences from others. They found out how the children would act so as not to force the main characters to suffer. They created “Rules of Tolerance” and “Character Traits” cards by selecting the best characteristics of classmates. The event took place in lively communication and positive emotions.
Pupils of the 3rd grade made up the rules of tolerance, spoke polite words, played the game “Yes or no”, discussed situations, performed the task “I can”, where they named the traits of a tolerant person.
Children of 2-B participated in the lesson “What do I know about tolerance” during which they watched cartoons, videos, performed fill words and drew a flower of the qualities of a tolerant person.
4-B students watched the video, discussed, and drew conclusions. They produced the “Wreath of Tolerance”, “We are all different, we are all equal.” They made proverbial puzzles about tolerance and performed interesting tasks.
The class group of the 3rd – 5th grade watched the presentation “Tolerance Day” and answered the questions of the “Tolerance” quiz. “The world around me.”
Pupils of 4-A created a tree of tolerance under the slogan “The world rests on a kind heart”.
The day of tolerance in 1-A class was rich and interesting. At the morning meeting, the children greeted each other and formed a circle of friends. Working in groups, they made posters: tree of tolerance, palms of tolerance, flower of tolerance. At art, they painted their palms together and together with psychologist T.S. Lytovchenko made a poster of friendship and tolerance.
Not only during the lessons, but also during the breaks, a variety of interesting interactive exercises were conducted with the students. The generators of these activities were T.S. Lytovchenko, school psychologist, together with her assistant Rotan O.O. For students of the 2nd and 1st grades, they introduced tolerance mandalas by colouring them, and the children listened to fairy tales (elements of fairy-tale therapy).
A flash mob with words associated with tolerance was exciting for the students of the 7th grade. The smiles on the faces of the flash mob participants are a sign that they are doing the right thing.
Pupils of the 5th grade grew a tree of tolerance. The corridors and classrooms were decorated with palms of tolerance, which were made by the students themselves.
The events provided an opportunity to once again make sure that the laws of goodness, tolerance, honesty, sincerity, empathy and love are in effect in the world, and tolerance will save the world.
But it is worth understanding that our future depends only on us and our choices. So these days, more than ever, we must be tolerant of the choices of others.
