Foreign Language Week
The fourth day of Foreign Language Week was eventful, interesting and informative for students of different classes.
Students of the 5th grade (teacher Liashchenko A.O.), who are learning French for the first time this year, held an unusual lesson called “La France magique”. The children recalled what they already knew about the culture of France and the peculiarities of French communication, actively participated in language exercises, improved their vocabulary skills and learned 23 interesting facts about the French.
Students of the 4th grade (teacher Onishchenko M.O.) took part in the brain-ring “Around the world”. The children enthusiastically completed various tasks on the topic of a healthy lifestyle in different countries of the world, worked with a poster, solved puzzles in English and discussed the importance of health. Movement, positive emotions and new knowledge made this day truly unforgettable for them.
Students of grade 10-A (teacher Karbivnycha I.V.) became participants in the debate tournament “Art is not a subject which should be taught in schools”, during which they had the opportunity to demonstrate their oratory skills.
No less exciting was the lesson in grade 11-B (teacher Yurin O.Ye.), where the game “Guess the country by emoji” was held in the Kahoot format. Students were divided into two teams — “Turkeys” and “Horses” — and competed in the ability to recognize countries encrypted with emoticons. In the final round, the “horses” team won. It was fun, interactive and informative.
Students of grade 10-B (teacher Yurin O.Ye.) joined in conducting an interactive lesson dedicated to the work of William Shakespeare. The schoolchildren got acquainted with the key facts of the biography of the English poet and playwright, watched a short animated version of the tragedy “Hamlet”, completed tasks to understand the content, and at the end read and analysed one of the author’s sonnets.
Thus passed another incredibly interesting day within the framework of the Foreign Language Week – a day that gave new knowledge, impressions and inspiration.
More to come…
