Starts a new project

From September, students of grades 8-9 will become participants of the project “Study and distinguish: info-media literacy”. It is implemented by IREX in Ukraine (the Council of International Scientific Research and Exchanges) in partnership with the Ukrainian Press Academy and Stopfake, with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
The aim of the project is to develop and implement an effective and sustainable model of critical information perception skills in general secondary education institutions. Currently, 16 teachers from 4 schools in the city have already undergone training under the project. Among them are our teachers Parnacheva N.V., Sotulenko O.Yu., Satanivska .IV., Solomka O.M.
The first stage includes the formation of critical thinking skills in teachers of Ukrainian language and literature, history of Ukraine, world history and art.
The second stage involves the development of methodological materials for integrating media literacy and critical thinking in school subjects: Ukrainian language (8 class), Ukrainian literature (8 class), History of Ukraine (8 class), World history (8 class), Art (9 class).
Educational goals of the project:
- be able to distinguish facts from thoughts;
- to learn to distinguish between prejudice, distortion, misinformation and falsehood;
- develop information analysis and verification skills;
- Encourage students to evaluate, analyze, understand, seek, and value quality content.
