We travel to the Local Lore museum
Today the school community dedicated the day to one of the oldest museums in Ukraine. Pupils of grades 1-10 visited the regional Local Lore museum, which was established in May 1918 on the initiative of the local center “Education” and the teaching community of the city, as a historical and pedagogical museum named after Taras Shevchenko. On May 8, 1985, a new exhibition was opened in a building built near the Hill of Glory. During the tour, students saw the oldest manuscript – the list of the Peresopnytsia Gospel, completed in 1571, and “The Apostle” – a book printed from the boards of the first printer Ivan Fedorov in 1623, collections of natural resources interesting stuffed animals, birds made in the early twentieth century of hunting lodges and offices, paleontological and mineralogical collections, works of painting, graphics, sculpture, decorative and applied arts, including works by folk artists of Ukraine D. Narbut and I. Fizer.
The day spent in the regional Local Lore museum left good impressions on students and teachers about the history and art of our state.
