Traditionally the new school year will begin with the First lesson. In 2016 our country celebrates 25 years of Independence and the theme of the First lesson is dedicated to this date. The theme of the lesson in 1-4 forms is “This is ours and this is yours”, in 5-11 forms the theme is “From the announcement of the Independence to the new Ukraine”. In spiritual and political life of each people there are events and years which become its history forever, penetrate consciousness, they determine the nature of everyday life, the place and role in the world civilization processes. In the history of Ukraine there are a lot of events that demonstrated the whole world the will of the Ukrainian people to free, happy, prosperous life. Following the processes of the current development and the formation of the Ukrainian state it is clear that one of the most important tasks of the society is the upbringing of the generation of humanists and patriots whose ideal would be the unity of personal and national interests.

The first lesson would form active position of schoolchildren by means of learning history of the state, its national and cultural traditions, respect to the laws of Ukraine, understanding moral and legal norms and valuables of society.

While preparing the First lesson it is advisable to pay attention to the issue of the history of the Ukrainian formation of the state, development and strengthening of Ukraine.

To make the First lesson interesting and full of content it can be prepared by the teacher itself. The lesson can be outside school with participation of parents, famous persons etc.
