International Day of Human Space Flight
April 12 is the International Day of Human Space Flight. For the first time, this day became a holiday around the world after the resolution of the United Nations General Assembly on April 7, 2011. In Ukraine, it is also the Day of Rocket and Space Workers. As the UN notes, the International Day of the First Human Space Flight is celebrated to remind us of the role of space science and technology in achieving the goals of sustainable development, as well as to contribute to improving the well-being of states and peoples. You can learn a lot about space from the book exhibition in the school library. And those who wish can also take a picture with the crown of their favourite planet in the photo zone. An exhibition of children’s drawings “Journey through Space” is in operation. On the eve of the holiday, an informative and exciting event was held for students of grades 2-B, where children had the opportunity to plunge into the fascinating world of astronomy.
Students watched a video about the Solar System, a video of a space rocket launch, participated in the quiz “What do I know about space?”, solved thematic riddles and made up their own dreams about future trips to other planets. Children also created bright applications on the theme “Cosmonaut”.
The event was held in a friendly atmosphere, gave children a lot of new knowledge and bright emotions. Who knows, maybe a future space conqueror is growing up among our second-graders!
