On April 26, 1986 in Ukraine, the Chernobyl disaster caused irreparable damage to the environment. Currently, Chernobyl is responsible for almost 10 percent of the territory of Ukraine, which suffered direct radiation damage. Each year on this day the whole world mentions the heroes-liquidators of the consequences of the tragedy at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.

Pupils of the 6-B, 7-A, 8-B classes on that day took part in the event of the Cherkasy Regional Children’s Library – “Chernobyl Chimes are a moan awake to save the whole world from misfortune!”. During the event, students watched a video of a catastrophe, an exhibition of thematic literature and listened to the oral journal – “Bells of Chernobyl”.

The consequences of the accident will still be felt by future generations of Ukrainians. About 3.5 million people were affected by the disaster and its consequences. Many of them are no longer alive, but their names will remain in our memory forever.
