March for the climate
More than 100 non-indifferent young people came to the Cathedral Square of Cherkasy to march for the climate. Vladyslav Bosenko is a student of the 10A class, a member of the city student inter-parliamentary assembly – among the organizers and active participants of the event. The youth came to the march to say – they have a clean future that is important to them, they know about climate change, they want to breathe clean air, drink clean water, and want to live in a safe, energy efficient and energy – independent city. The main goal of the march is to encourage the entire community of the city and Ukraine to switch to 100% renewable energy by 2050.
Note: Action on climate change began in August 2018. Then on one Friday, Swedish schoolgirl Greta Thunberg conducted a single school climate strike near the Swedish Parliament building. The girl was joined by other students, and the action was called “Friday for the Future”. School protests have grown into an international youth movement of the same name.
