Volunteer Day
International Volunteers Day is celebrated today in the world. Volunteer Club “Vector” has been operating in our school for many years. This year, the club’s members initiated charity events in general. The school family first officially joined the worldwide charity movement “Generous Tuesday” in Ukraine for the first time. Traditionally, students, teachers, parents supported the holding of the Red Cross Month for fund raising, food, clothing, footwear, household items, and medicines. The entire school community responded to the help of the families of students who needed an urgent complex operation. In early December, the action “Draw a picture, write a greeting card, assemble a package and congratulate the defender of Ukraine on the day of St. Nicholas and the Nativity of Christ” began. It is pleasant to note that the entire school family is always actively involved in volunteer actions.
Note: UN General Assembly has invited governments to mark this day on December 5th. International Day of Volunteers for Economic and Social Development (this is the official name of this Day), proclaimed by the decision of the 40th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations on December 17, 1985, in recognition of the important role of volunteers and other organizations in the social and economic development of society.
