Unity Day of Ukraine 2025
Every year on January 22, Ukrainians celebrate Unity Day of Ukraine, uniting in a living chain and expressing support for national unity and independence.
For centuries, Ukrainian lands were divided and were under the oppression of the Austro-Hungarian and Russian empires. The end of World War I and the onset of revolutionary events contributed to the efforts of Ukrainians in their desire to fight for their independence. Therefore, Unity Day is a holiday for all citizens, symbolizing their desire for unity and freedom and the indivisibility of state territories.
Students of our school community joined the celebration of Unity Day. An educational event “Unity Day of Ukraine – a symbol of the unity of the Ukrainian people” was held in each class, where students watched thematic videos. During the day, schoolchildren wrote letters with wishes for Ukraine, solved crosswords and puzzles, made amulets and symbolic jewellery. In the library and hall of the school there was a book exhibition “Ukraine – United and Indivisible”. Everyone had the opportunity to admire the drawings on the patriotic theme “I live in Ukraine”. They relaxed and dreamed of a peaceful, happy life in a free, united Ukraine during art therapy together with a psychologist. Our little Ukrainians united in the “Living Chain” as a symbol of unity.
The school day ended with a bright flash mob “We are for a United Ukraine” in embroidered shirts and with national symbols.
Together we are strong!
Glory to Ukraine!
