Day of Dignity and Freedom
On this day, one of the most significant public holidays in the recent history of Ukraine is celebrated. It is dedicated to two revolutions in Ukraine – the Orange Revolution of 2004 and the Revolution of Dignity in 2013. Every year, Ukrainians celebrate the Day of Dignity and Freedom on November 21, the anniversary of the start of Euromaidan. The purpose of introducing the commemorative date was to establish the ideals of freedom and democracy in Ukraine, to preserve and convey to modern and future generations objective information about the fateful events in Ukraine at the beginning of the 21st century. This day commemorates the patriotism and courage of citizens who, in the fall of 2004 and in November 2013 – February 2014, stood up for the defence of democratic values, rights and freedoms of man and citizen, national interests of the Ukrainian state and its European choice. From the very morning in the lobby of the school, thematic videos about Ukrainian heroes who fought for freedom began to be broadcast. The heroes of Ukraine who stood up to defend freedom and dignity were mentioned during information hours in grades 1-11. Pupils of the 1st grade created a collage “Ukraine – the territory of Dignity and Freedom”, and pupils of the 2nd grade took part in the flash mob “We are for peace and freedom”. The fifth-graders expressed their feelings from the bottom of their hearts by making charms for the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Schoolchildren honoured the memory of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred by placing flowers at the monument to the Freedom Fighters of Ukraine.
Glory to Ukraine!
Glory to heroes!
