In order to introduce STEM technologies in the school, students in grades 8-11 joined the celebration of National Girls Day in Technology. Within the framework of the event, 8th grade girls visited Cherkasy State Technological University, Department of Chemical Technology and Water Treatment. During the visit the students reviewed the presentations of the candidates of chemical sciences, women scientists of the department and Solodovnik T.V., got acquainted with the newest equipment of the laboratory of chemical technologies and water purification. The 9th grade students visited the E-creative company, where they were able not only to get acquainted with the work of the company, but also to talk with its founder Viktor Yevpak. Company managers Natalia Romanova and Tetiana Medvedenko spoke in an interactive form about the types of IT professions and the areas in which girls are in demand today. This visit broke the stereotype that only men work for IT companies. 10th grade students got acquainted with various professions related to computer science during the excursion to Cherkasy National University named after B. Khmelnitsky to the Faculty of Computer Engineering, Intellectual and Control Systems. The presenters of the meeting were the senior lecturer of the department of information technologies Yu.Y. Hrebenovich and Serhii Tsybrovsky, Director of the HR department of E-creative. The excursion to the IT company SPD UKRAINE, where the 11th grade students got acquainted with the work of the IT company, became interesting and informative. The tour for the girls was conducted by Yevhenia Polonskaia, Head of HR Department.
It was a bright day and will be remembered for a long time.
