Debate as a step towards leadership: our students are among the best!
Students of our school continue to actively participate in the intellectual life of the city and worthily represent their institution on various educational platforms. This time, our high school students — Ihnatieva Karolina (10-B grade), Dyka Sofiia (9-A grade) and Lehkodukh Alina (11-A grade) — took part in debates on the basis of Cherkasy Specialized School No. 28 named after T. Shevchenko. Our students had the opportunity to join the debates in the Karl Popper format — one of the most common formats of educational debates, which develops critical thinking, the ability to argue one’s own position, work in a team and conduct a constructive dialogue.
The students’ mentor during the preparation and participation in the event was Parnachova N.V., who helped them prepare for their speeches qualitatively, practice their arguments and feel confident during the debates.
Participation in such events is not only an intellectual competition, but also a powerful tool for developing leadership qualities, civic activism, and self-confidence.
An important step in the development of this direction was also receiving a grant for the implementation of the summer educational project “Leader UA”, which opens up new opportunities for improving students’ communication skills and their personal growth.
We are proud of our students, who not only gain knowledge, but also actively develop 21st century skills: critical thinking, communication, cooperation, and creativity.
We wish them further success, new victories, and bright performances in the debate arena!
