Olympiad in Mental Arithmetic
Our school students are active members of the Indigo Mental Arithmetic Club. On the basis of our school there was a significant event for this club – the first Urban Olympiad in mental arithmetic in Cherkasy, or rather the first two stages of the Olympiad. The school is proud of the students who went to the finals, namely Rosina Veronica (3-A) and Karbivnychyi Artiom (4-A). According to the organizers of the Olympiad, the final will be held in a week. Students are waiting for a persistent struggle in the finals, rewards and pleasant surprises. The whole school family cheers its participants and wishes success.
Note: Indigo mental training club Cherkasy, a club of mental arithmetic, where children learn to count on Abacus, hinges with their fingers the movements necessary for the count, and then gradually transfer the account into their imagination and perform the same actions of addition and subtraction only without Abacus (which everyone sees). The method of counting in the imagination helps to develop both the left and right hemispheres of the brain, by establishing the necessary neural connections between them. All this contributes to the improvement of memory, concentration of attention, logical, analytical, creative thinking, accelerating decision-making, develops spatial imagination and in general improves brain function.
