The last day of the Foreign Language Week at school became a real celebration of knowledge, creativity and good mood. Students from different classes plunged into the fascinating world of the English language, culture and traditions of Great Britain.
Little explorers from grades 2-B and 2-V went on a fabulous journey together with Peppa Pig’s family. The children discovered four countries of the United Kingdom, learned to find them on the map and independently determined the capital – London. The students got acquainted with the symbols of the country and even tried themselves as architects, creating the legendary Big Ben from a construction set. The atmosphere of the class was lively, friendly and full of positive emotions.
The classes in grades 2-I and 2-G were no less interesting, where the children also travelled around Great Britain together with their favourite characters. And students of the 2nd grade (teacher Tsarenko N.V.) joined the educational and gaming event “Discover Britain – Secret Colour Mission”. In the format of an interactive game, schoolchildren performed language tasks in English: they guessed words, chose the correct answers and solved “secret missions”. The task of colouring the symbols of Great Britain caused particular delight – children were happy to find double-decker buses, telephone booths, royal palaces and other recognizable images.
Students of the 5th grade, together with English teacher Yurin O.Ye., prepared and presented meaningful projects on the topic “British traditions”. During the presentations, the children talked about famous holidays, customs and peculiarities of British life, demonstrating not only knowledge of the language, but also creativity and the ability to work in a team.
High school students also actively participated in the events. Students of grade 10-B prepared an interesting and informative presentation about British TV shows and channels for sixth-graders. And a student of grade 9-A, Victoria Bilous, held an exciting quest for students of grade 6-B, “A Journey through Interesting Places in London,” which allowed the participants to feel like real travellers.
Today, as part of the Foreign Language Week, students of grade 10-A held an exciting lesson on the topic “Connaissez-vous les chanteurs contemporains?” (Do you know contemporary singers?) for students of grade 9-A. The program was rich and dynamic: students guessed popular French singers from short musical excerpts, competed in knowledge while playing Kahoot, and also solved a thematic crossword puzzle, remembering the names of musical instruments in French. The lesson time flew by — interestingly and in an interactive atmosphere. Thank you to the tenth-graders for their creative approach!
An important part of the week was the defence of projects by students of grade 11-A (teacher Kolomiiets L.M.). The seniors presented meaningful and creative works about Great Britain, France and Germany, demonstrating deep knowledge, analytical thinking and a high level of proficiency in foreign languages.
The bright final note of the day was the school-wide holiday “I Love English”. The stage came alive with sincere emotions: students recited poems, excited the audience with dances and gave a wonderful mood with songs in English.
The week of foreign languages ended on an upbeat note, leaving behind new knowledge, vivid impressions and a desire to discover the world further. After all, learning languages is not only about words, but also about travel, culture and new horizons!
