Postcard from David Kulik

Thanks for the photo on the school website, I am very pleased . Everything is OK . My American family is nice. I could not dream about such an interesting experience. They are very educated people. We speak about the American and Ukrainian cultures.

My school life satarted two months ago. It takes a long time to tell about a variety of schools and the education system, for me it’s like two parallel universes . School in the USA is very different from our schools , from the number of students (almost 2,000 students , only 9-12 grade) , to the methods of teaching and learning subjects.
The first month was very difficult. I had a feeling of constant 8-hours English class , only on different subjects . Actually I am very grateful to all my teachers who sometimes forced me to learn. I spend a lot of time at school, but in addition the school also tries to engage in volunteering, because I have to perform at least 40 hours to the end of March. Now , twice a week I go to the elementary school and help children to be familiar with engineering and programming. By the way , two exchange students from Ukraine ( Kyiv and Luhansk) live near me.
Even when it is difficult and sad, I just try to imagine how many new opportunities and experiences I have received and will receive in the future, then I forget about all the troubles and difficulties and go on. As the proverb, located at the entrance to my American school says- do something today, to be thanked for that in future.
