Olympiad of geniuses
In the summer, Nikita Tovstopiat and Maria Novikova can represent Ukraine at the Olympiad of Geniuses in New York. Two eleventh-graders have developed a model of a standalone water treatment plant that works on recyclables.
In February, Nikita Tovstopiat (11-B grade student) and Maria Novikova (11 grade student of school 11) won the All-Ukrainian competition “Eco-Ukraine” in the nomination “Chemical Technology”, where they were recommended for participation in the “Genius Olympiad”, due in New York in the summer.
For the preparation of the project, the students divided the roles, Maria Novikova was responsible for the biological part, and Nikita Tovstopiat – for the engineering embodiment and took as a basis an analogue of the classic water treatment plant. Students worked on the project under the guidance of biology teacher Liudmyla Dovhal, according to which such a water treatment plant helps to solve two problems at once: pollution with polyethylene waste and purification of water identification.
