News from the ocean
The school received a newsletter from our 11th-grade student, Denis Kozlovsky, who is studying in Huntsville, Texas, USA. This was possible thanks to Denis’s victory in the FLEX program. For the school family, this is an extraordinary event because for the first time in the history of the school the opportunity to deepen his knowledge abroad has gained an inclusive student.
Note: The Future Leaders Exchange Program (FLEX) is a program for students from general education schools in ten countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) – Eurasia, funded by the United States Government. The program provides scholars with scholarships that allow them to travel to the United States, study at an American school within one academic year and live in an American host family.
The main purpose of FLEX is to improve mutual understanding between countries and enable young people from Eurasia to observe and be part of the US state system. In Ukraine, FLEX has been operating since 1993. Every year about 300 finalists go to the United States. The contest is organized by the American Councils for International Education with the support of the Ministry of Education of Ukraine.
