European Day of Languages

Despite the fact that most students study using distance learning technologies, the school celebrated the European Day of Languages, which has become traditional. Young connoisseurs of the English language, namely first and second graders, studied how the word “peace” sounds in different languages of European countries. The peace that all the inhabitants of our country are waiting for so much. All the students drew the flags of European countries with great pleasure and wished peace to our Motherland, pronouncing this word in different languages. Third-grade students took part in an interactive quest during which they learned how to say “hello” in different languages and took part in musical karaoke, where they sang songs in different foreign languages. Pupils of the 4th and 5th grades visited a virtual cinema, where they watched a film about the importance of learning foreign languages and which languages are the most popular in the world. Pupils of the 5th grade worked on the “Language tree” project. 6th graders got acquainted with the traditions and customs of European countries, their currency units, interesting facts about the origin of many European languages, became participants in the information-rich video quiz “European countries”. The online game “Guess the country by the flag” was offered to seventh-graders.
High school students were also not without attention. While traveling through France, they watched the video “Pourquoi apprendre le français?” “Why do we study French?”, discussed the issue of “Is French difficult?”, got acquainted with the history of the celebration of the European Day of Languages and realized that learning foreign languages is simply necessary in the modern world.
