World Savings Day

The project “Be Saving!” started on the World Savings Day. The goal of the project is to familiarize students with the ideas of savings, clarification of the basic principles of family budgeting and financial accounting, providing information on various financial products. Within the project, teachers implement cross-cutting lines “Entrepreneurship and financial literacy”. Pupils of the 6th grade visited the Dnipro Branch of the Cherkasy branch of Privatbank and learned about the savings and basic rules of deposit protection. Head of the direction of “Uniorbank” Andrii Vovchenko familiarized with modern Internet applications that allow you to save time. Representatives of the Cherkasy Institute of Educational Sciences and the School of Business Administration “University of Banking”, together with students of grades 9-11, conducted English-language interactive “Money does not grow on trees”, a financial quest “Can save”, Road Show “Be financially literate.”
For students of the 5th grade, the economics teacher Zasiadko L.V. holds classes on financial literacy – “Savings”. Online entrepreneur, blogger, webmaster – Elena Litvinova-conducted a lecture “Blogging: Affect, Help, Earn Money!” for staggered students.
Note: The history of the World Savings Day began in Milan when, in October 1924, representatives of savings banks from 29 countries gathered at the first international specialized congress. October 31, 1924 was the last day of the congress, in which the Italian professor Ravizza proposed “to commemorate the first meeting of the savings banks of all countries” to celebrate this day each year as an International Day of Savings.
