Holiday of the native language

This week, the whole world celebrates the International Day of the native language. The school held events devoted to this event. Exhibition of pictures “Visiting a fairy tale” is located in the recreation of the second floor. For students of grades 2-11 there was an informational hour on the theme “While there is Shevchenko’s language, there Ukraine is”. Teacher of Ukrainian Language and Literature Mykytenko A.A. held a conversation-discussion “Development of the Ukrainian Literary Language” with the 9A class and a lesson-narrative “Ukrainian rites, customs as the main spiritual heritage of our people” with the 5В class. Students of the 6th form were the participants of the game “Travel of the native word”; this event was prepared by the teacher of the Ukrainian language and literature Solomka O. M. and the school librarian Perytseva N.A. Hospitably met the Literary Coffeehouse of 5B and 10A students, attended by the teacher of foreign literature Chernukha V.S. The highlight of the events dedicated to the International Day of the native language was the holiday “Our language – the language Kalynova”, which gathered in the school hall of the school students of 5-7 grades.

Note: The International Day of the Native Language is celebrated annually on February 21, starting in 2000. “Support for linguistic and cultural diversity and multilingualism” was announced at the XXXth session of the UNESCO General Conference, which took place from 26 October to 17 November 1999 in Paris.
