The final stage of the All-Ukrainian contest “The school of a stable development of 2013-2014” was summed up. According to the jury decision our school was qualified as “The school promoting a stable development”. We have received the complimentary letter from the team of the international project “The education for a stable development in action”.

At the end of the last year 103 schools from 13 regions of Ukraine, including our school, were willing to participate in the contest. At the first stage of the contest the schools filled the questionnaire confirming the availability in the school of the definite achievements in various branches of education for a stable development. The questions referred not only to the systematic teaching of courses “The lessons for a stable development”, measures to reduce rubbish quantity or economic heat and water consumption but to the work in community, ways to resolve a conflict, changes in management as well. For the second stage of the contest the participants prepared portfolios describing their activity and experience. While reviewing the works the jury showed the preference for the schools presenting the most definite results of the work, practical activity. The main aim of the project was to reduce ecological trace. The experience presented by our school for the contest perfectly illustrated a school wide approach to implement the principles of a stable development into the practice.
