School workshop of sustainable development in action
On the second Saturday, “School Workshop for Sustainable Development” is active in the field of our school. This time, the welcoming walls of Cherkasy Specialized School № 3 took training on responsible attitude to household waste. Our school has gathered a lot of teachers of biology, chemistry, geography and ecology, history and civic education who are not indifferent to the issues of responsible attitude towards the waste. For training from Lviv, Mykola Riabko, a public activist from NGO “Green City”, was invited to visit us. Invitations to the training were initiated by Carina Musina personally through our partners, the Bethen Engineery Company. The training was devoted to the legal principles of waste management as well as the role of educators, individual households, and community activists in this process. All training blocks were held in a friendly, active co-operation between the trainer and the participants: everyone had time to exchange experience, learn something new from colleagues, and even tried to make a strategic plan for the next year on activities in the field of responsible attitude to solid household waste.
