International Day of Peace

The school celebrated the International Day of Peace.
International Peace Day was proclaimed in 1981 by the UNO resolution. Establishing Peace Day proves that the UNO directs its efforts in support of world peace and calls on all people of the world to unite in achieving this goal.
Every year different activities and campaigns are held worldwide to draw attention to the large-scale work in support of peace, and in order to disseminate information among individuals, communities and societies to a deeper understanding of the problems that hinder peaceful coexistence, and sharing information and experience for its achievement.
International Day of Peace provides an opportunity to draw attention to children and young people on the importance of peace and the principles of humanity, freedom, goodness and respect for diversity. In Ukraine, the United Nations on Thursday initiates the national campaign “Dove of Peace” at a time when the issue of peace is particularly urgent for Ukraine.
This year our school Euroclub also joined the campaign “Dove of Peace”. Students of grades 6-8 produced pigeons and wrote their wishes to live in peace and harmony.
Also Euroclub “Commonwealth” combined primary school pupils in the “Umbrellas for Peace”. Students drew their umbrellas in a traditional style, and in a single flash mob opened them, symbolizing unity and desire to live in peace and security.
