Note: Adoption of orphans and children deprived of parental care has long existed. One of the first sources of family affairs was the laws of the Babylonian king Hammurabi (the so-called Codex Hammurabi), written around 1780 BC. The right of the child to a family is enshrined at the legislative level and above all in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, the Constitution of Ukraine, and the Family Code of Ukraine.
