Ukrainian Writing Day

On the Ukrainian Writing Day, 458 schoolchildren participated in the 1st stage of the International Speech Competition named after Petro Yatsyk. The festive day started the parade of embroidered shirts. Traditionally, in the first lesson, students wrote dictations; this year, about the life and activities of the founder of the competition, Petro Yatsyk, and his native language. The winners of the 1st stage were Daria Naumenko (3A), Veronica Rosina (4A), Nika Tropina (5A), Sofia Khromova (6A), Maria Lukianenko (6B), Bohdana Vodolaz (7A), Yelyzaveta Shatan (7B), Anastasia Hoshkoderia (8A), Solodkyi Yaroslav (9A), Anastasia Nehrii (10A) and Tetiana Zelenko (11A).
In addition, pupils of grades 7-10 took part in the project “Speak Ukrainian correctly” on posters, appeals to avoid mistakes in speech and the statements of famous writers about the meaning of the Ukrainian language. An exhibition of the best student books for works in the Ukrainian language was organized on the Day of Writing. An interesting and meaningful meeting was the meeting of 6-A class children with the Cherkasy writer Olha Mesevrey.
Elementary school students took part in the holy of native language, quiz games “The native word, mother tongue”, “Everyone’s word is native”, “In the world of fairy tales”, “The connoisseurs of the Ukrainian language”, created an oral magazine “We are Ukrainian”, organized exhibition of drawings “Let’s Roll the World Fairy”.
The celebration ended with an interesting and meaningful event “Brinet, singing our language, charming, cheering”, which was attended by students of grades 6-10, school dance group and band “Suziria”.
On the same day, the contest “Let’s Unite, My Brothers” started at school.
