Democracy Day
Today is International Democracy Day. The celebration of the International Day of Democracy was established by the UN General Assembly in resolution № 62/7 – November 8, 2007.
It was first celebrated on September 15, 2008. In 2016, our school family joined the All-Ukrainian Educational Program for Democratic Citizenship in Ukraine “Democratic School”. The program aims to deepen the culture of democracy in the institution by supporting further democratization and decentralization of school governance, promoting public partnership and developing a democratic environment in the institution, as well as promoting the organization of educational work on human rights education and democratic citizenship.
Thanks to the Project, a democratic culture in the institution is developing. Yes, the Project team works in different areas: democratic school environment and democratic governance; EDC / HRE approaches in the educational process; organization of educational projects at school or as an element of community development; facilitation of meetings aimed at identifying problems and finding solutions; management of educational programs; implementation of initiatives that lead to positive changes. Note: According to the UN, democracy is not only a goal but also a process, and only with the full participation and support of the international community, public authorities, society and individual citizens, the ideals of democracy can reach everyone in any corner of the world.
